Walkin’ On, Walkin’ On Broken Glass

Last night Claude and I went up to bed just after midnight. We were talking about work and band and just general stuff. I couldn’t get comfortable and as I was moving around I heard a “tink tink” noise outside and figured that Eric (our neighbor) was just getting home and was dinking around in his car. We laid there talking for about 10 minutes then started drifting off to sleep.
All of a sudden a horn was honking. Honk. Honk. Honk.
Me: “Is that SERIOUSLY your car alarm?” “Fuck!” As I look on the window, seeing nothing but his car with the lights flashing.
“Go turn it off fershitsake, we’re gonna have the whole neighborhood pissed off at us!!!”
Claude: “Hell no, I’m calling the cops!”
So he called the cops, we made our way downstairs, got our shoes on and went outside to investigate. That “tink tink” was someone busting his rear window on the drivers side. The entire window was shattered. There was glass inside and outside. They were after the woofer and most likely the amp too. Thankfully the woofer was too big to fit through the window so when they tried to open the door the alarm activated.

So now, I get to find someone to do an estimate and figure out whether or not it’s worth it to pay a $500 deductible to get the bitch fixed! I’m sure it will cost more than that….everything is so damn expensive these days.
I’m sure that the car or two that drove by after Claude moved the car and saw me sweeping the driveway at 1a.m. by the light of the headlights of my van…..thought I was bat shit crazy.
Little do they know, I am!

I was sitting on my butt minding my own business…
Austin had a quarter, I took it from him and put it on the table next to me. A few minutes later Kalayah wanted to change the channel, so she grabbed the remote (that was also on the table) and apparently grabbed the quarter too.
They were dinkin’ around on the couch and on the floor when all of a sudden Kalayah is jumping up and down and clutching her throat screaming “MOM, I JUST SWALLOWED A QUARTER, IT’S IN MY THROAT AND IT HURTS, IT HURTS REALLY REALLY BAD….I CAN’T SWALLOW, IT HURTS IN MY BACK…WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!”
My response? “Well clearly you’re ok if you’re screaming at me, calm down for a second so I can talk to you!”
“BUT IT HURTS!”
“I know, but you’re talking so that means its not stuck the wrong way, are you SURE it was a quarter?”
“YES!”
“Was it……(looking at the table), yeah, I guess it was. You took the quarter that was sitting here didn’t you?!”
“Yes.”
I dug through my purse, found a quarter and held it up….”This?”
“Yes.”
Holding up a penny, nickel and a dime…..”Not one of these?”
“No.”
So I called Claude and told him that Kalayah thought it would be a great idea to swallow a quarter and he said get to the E.R..
So off we went.
We signed in at 11:04, the kids played around in the kids area, watched tv, jumped around, made noise and pretty much drove me insane. They took her back for an x-ray around noon and then we sat in the waiting room some more. Everyone in the room got to listen to 1 guy barf every 5 minutes….I dunno what that was about but he sure looked like shit. His girlfriend/wife said “I think he gave himself alcohol poisoning.” to some guy also waiting…. “He normally only drinks 3-4 beers a night, but last night he drank EIGHT!” The guy giggled and responded “You won’t get alcohol poisoning from 8 beers, it’d take a lot more than that to give him alcohol poisoning!” Dude was in the bathroom yacking, so she had uninterrupted time to discuss his drinking habits with a stranger.
So yeah, basically we sat in the waiting room for 3 hours and waited 20 minutes for the doctor to come in and tell us that she’d crap it out in 2-3 days. Also, “Maybe you’ll poop out two dimes and a nickel, and make change!”
She didn’t get it, but I laughed.
So now when she has to go to the bathroom she FREAKS out that it’s gonna be the big one!
Kids….I tell yah.
Exhausted

Maybe all the excitement of last week has caught up with me or maybe I’m just really sleep deprived, but I am wiped the hell out. Mental exhaustion could be the culprit, but I’m physically gone too….trying to walk around the store this morning was hard enough, then I had to stay at school with Kalayah and be snack parent. Now I can’t stop yawning and my eyes are watering like crazy. I haven’t done my 365 picture for today yet and I know if I go and take a shower like I want to, that I won’t want to take a picture afterwards.
Such a dilemma I tell you.
I’m not sure if it’s due to how tired I am or what, but the kids are 110% annoying today. I don’t think Kalayah has stopped talking for more than 10 seconds ALL DAY!
As always, the laundry is sitting unfinished, the floor needs to be swept and mopped and I need to vacuum again. This mom job sure is a pain in my ass. (bitch bitch bitch) I finally scheduled Austins dentist appointment and ye good ole yearly exam today. Such excitement here in our household.
Oh speaking of excitement, Wal-Mart just called and my pictures I ordered online are done! YAY!!!!!
I’m gonna go pick em up, I’m come back and bitch either later or another day. Don’t you worry! hahaha

Nervous, Excited and ALL of the Above!
April 9, 2008 at 9:58 am | In life | 3 CommentsTags: biological, blurb, conversation, daughter, father, highlights, meeting, nervous, phone
Today is the big day you guys….I’m semi freaking out. I never told you about the phone conversation I had with my dad the other day…
Here are a few highlights…
1. “Hi, is this Kevin?”
Yes it is.
“Hi! This is Tirzah!”
HI HUNNY!!!!! How ARE you?
2. He told me that he knew I was around 29 or 30 and that every November he’d say Happy Birthday to me….even if it was just to himself.
3. He said that he thought about me all the time and wanted to contact my parents, but was afraid of stepping on anyones toes. I told him the same. I told him how when we get a new phone book, I’d always look him up to see if I could find him in order to comtemplate contacting him.
4. I have 2 half brothers, ages 18 and 20. =] =]
5. He lives in the same apartment building as Claudes mom. HILARIOUS!
I’m going to meet him today after I drop Kalayah off at school…I’m nervous, excited and ALL of the above! I’m going to take the book I made with me so he can look at pictures and I might end up just giving it to him.
I have so much to get done before I can leave the house….I have to keep my mind occupied before I have a damn nervous breakdown. Expect a follow up either today or tomorrow!
Wish me lotsa luck! =]
